Fedia Jacobs
A psychiatrist and author publishing in Dutch. I built a bilingual site bringing the professional offer, press, reviews and a two-title bookshop under one domain.

The Brief
Fedia Jacobs is a psychiatrist and an author, publishing in Dutch on trauma processing and on relationships in the aftermath of man-made violence. Two books: Pijnlijke verrijking (2012) and Van daar naar nu (2017).
The brief was one public home for work that was scattered across several. A professional offer, two books with their own press and reviews, and somewhere to actually buy them. Dutch first, since that is the language the books are written in, but reachable by a reader who has none.
What I Built
One domain doing three jobs at once. It has to present a practising psychiatrist, introduce two books, and sell them.
Dutch leads, because Dutch is what the books are written in, with English alongside it so a reader without the language is not shut out. The two versions are one site rather than two to keep in step, which matters a great deal when nobody is being paid to maintain either.
The structure is deliberately flat. The professional offer splits three ways, each part on its own page, so any one of them can be sent to an enquirer without the rest attached.
The persuading is left to other people. Press and reviews get room of their own, and the books are sold on the site rather than through a link out to a retailer who takes the reader away and keeps them.
Where It Stands
Live, in both languages, and stable. It has carried the same title, the same navigation and the same shop since at least late 2021, which is as far back as the public archive goes.
That stability was the requirement, not a consolation. This never wanted a framework. It wanted to be editable by its owner, to sell two books without a middleman, and to still be standing years later with nobody maintaining it. It is. I have not touched it in a long time.
